happy with Felix

To the students who work in the Latin class with the book "Felix" to make even "happy", I have now created in the language area some interactive exercises that are based on this same textbook. Completed so far are the tasks of the Unit 12 to 29 More will follow.
just such students who need to prepare for an investigation in the subject Latin, are cordially invited to solve these tasks. But all others are allowed to do these exercises for the purpose of repetition. Finally, 6 weeks a long time and oblivion is a hungry beast.

Really Wet Cm With Little Bubbles

The king is dead! Long live the Queen!

Michael Jackson, the self-proclaimed "King of Pop", is dead But live the Queen, which of course meant my wife, back at my house. It has indeed been released from hospital yesterday afternoon, as well as the recent studies were negative. Phew! Once pigs had! Since we have our little horror is chasing a very beautiful, when his pulse was gone for a while in the basement! For the safety of my wife in the next week is a day to a gynecologist to be there to make CTGs. One reason for the slowing of the heartbeat of our unborn child could not name the doctors.
My wife was able to relax to give it back, so it my advice to keep our Justus of ice cream (are they not only me but also my father and was "ice-aholics"), with humor considered: "You say that only so more ice cream left over for you! "

But so completely without comment, I can not let the death of Michael Jackson too. For I am, after all grown up with him, that his music has accompanied me through puberty. My very first album (at that time as a music cassette) was his "Thriller". Even though my musical tastes since changed its direction slightly has, I have however still much respect for his performance as a musician, singer and dancer. I think songs like "Beat It," "Billie Jean" and "Smooth Criminal" are not of this world. Basically, he never was. And what did Will Smith in "Men in Black" after he learned of the extraterrestrial origin Jackson? "What kind of camouflage sloppy!"

Dream Theater in the amphitheater

The brilliant band Dream Theater, which has set new standards in the metal sector was yesterday one of their two concerts in Germany, in the Amphitheater in Gelsenkirchen, which lies almost on my doorstep in Marl. This fits so great, I thought. So I went with a former fellow student about 70 minutes before the start of the show going on and was looking forward to the concert. Simultaneously but troubled me a little bit my bad conscience, because my wife zurselben time was in the hospital. But immherhin were the last tests positive, and my wife had told myself that I should use the time before the birth right ("If the child is only there once, then nothing with concerts! Is"). And the cards, which cost nearly 50 euros were also purchased already. Such was the anticipation is not low. However, we still had to wait a while before we have benefited from Dream Theater, because of the crowds and the motorists were so powerful that the car park we were headed in walking speed, was already full, when we had finally reached him. So we had to avoid something on the remote parking garage. The result was that we mitbekamen of the opening band (Neal Morse, who has stirred up strong with his former band Spock's Beard, the prog-rock scene), only the last song. One song, however, already showed how good the sound should be today. Last year, in the amphitheater as Runrig occurred to me the great sound was noticed. And this time it was re-1a. On top of that the amphitheater is also visually a great location, especially in summer. It is hard to believe that such a thing will just fine in Gelsenkirchen. The same happened probably also the drummer (Mike Portnoy) by Dream Theater, the difficulties with the pronunciation had from Gelsenkirchen. But that was about the only problem was the band that evening. Your music they were playing again (this was my third Dream Theater concert) in an impressive perfection. It has this band sometimes the impression that they would most like to play without a singer, so she could make her even more enormous technical skills to the test. banish Immherhin they have their lead singer James Labrie, who was quite a good mood today and met almost all the sounds from the stage as often as can be seen that he was only about half of the concert and hear. The star is the team, or rather, the band (and not the singer).
was somewhat different in a concert that I experienced last week in Bochum (with the generous permission of my wife). It played to the still rather new band Dredg. Here was the front man who sang as if it was a matter of life or death, already quite dominant. Behind him was on the dynamic drummer, a little like Robbie Williams. All in all it was a great and very intense concert of a band that we will hear certainly still a lot. So ably rarely has a band attached to claim and catchy, but what can say about Dream Theater. The drumsticks that were distributed after the Dredg concert in the audience went, but again to my front people (see posting "My Favorite Concert"), but this Time I could catch at least a handshake-singer of Dredg. Man, the sweat!

White Spot On The Bottom Lip

's finally here and, unfortunately, gone ...

today are the free copies of my two readings of "The 13th Birthday" and "The trip to Germany," came in the mail. Finally! It's nice to keep the books in the hands and scroll through them. I hope the readers will like it as much as I do.

Unfortunately I can not share the joy of my two new phenomena with my wife. Yesterday she was in fact trained in the Leverkusen-based clinic, as yesterday's routine investigation has given rise to concern. The CTG, which will include the unborn baby's heart rate measured, has shown that the heartbeat of our little ones for almost a minute of 130 (normal value) has dropped to below 80. If you think that is the heartbeat of an unborn baby usually twice as fast as that of his mother, you realize how low and alarming, the value is 80. Just because our Justus already has a heart defect, the woman wanted to reach my doctor wife no risk. Now my wife gets
Leverkusen in several daily CTG and ultrasound examinations. Previously there were fortunately no unpleasant peculiarities in terms of testing. Toi toi toi! I hope it stays that way and that the test result has been a mere false alarm. Otherwise, it is conceivable that our already Justus Now, 35 in the Week will be taken out, must. God forbid!

What Shirt With Grey Suit

Koelle, here we come!

Now it is official: After the summer holidays I will be teaching at a secondary school in Cologne, both my Latin and English subjects. Anyone who has read this blog regularly know that Cologne is a very special city for me (see, eg, posting "My favorite club"). Even the hero of my two novels, "Latin Bride" and "Bride Latin Liber II" is a Latin teacher from Cologne. It will probably soon be even more difficult to explain that the teachers from these books is not the same with me and that it is a fictional story. In addition, white the attentive reader that Cologne is the city whose heart center for my son who is in about 6 weeks to see the light of the world, will be the life saver.
However, we now have before even a fairly arduous move that will go across the stage as soon as possible, because one can never know when Justin decides to leave the womb of his mother. We can only hope that he (now 44cm tall) will remain for a while there.

Kalkriese

Kalkriese is the place near Osnabrück, and which we or thought to have held the infamous Battle of Varus. In particular, the people of the Lipper room, w o the imposing statue of Hermann can be seen, understandably disagree. Since I own a few years in ( Lippe) Detmold have lived, my doubts about the correctness of the Osnabrück-arguments are not exactly small. Still, I've put up on Corpus Christi (the "North Rhine-Vandal-day" as he is called the Lower Saxony) with a good old fellow student to give Kalkriese a chance and visit. And I must say I have not looked back.
After we parked ourselves on a narrow, extremely muddy forest path, which immediately gave us the right feeling Varus, had labored to the museum, we reached the place of issue Kalkriese. The same was three "stations", namely the permanent exhibition, special exhibition with the tower and the "battle field". Between the exhibition buildings, there were several items that gave you the feeling of being on a folk festival. This impression was supported also by the large number of visitors. On the way to the "battlefield" where the Varus battle was reconstructed with a few hundred "Romans" and "Germans", was a historical market, where you could try including "real" Roman cuisine (if you have the courage for mustered).
Both shows are very lovely and original. They also provide a good Insight into the Roman and Germanic life, the circumstances of the battle and the Germanic culture and history. It became clear how closely the Roman Empire for several centuries with Germania Germania was though has never entirely conquered by the Romans. Arguably, that Germany would be without the Roman influence never become what it is today, a united nation.
